Re: Quick Update
Hi there,
i've just completed a sample terrain for use as a demo object in the game framework. I'm planning to post some new stuff end of the month. I still need to do the basic terrain fly-over code and check everything in after documentation of the code.
It's really quiet here now, shame about that... To make some nice demo shots, we could really use a modeller to make some buildings, culture (trees, bushes) and maybe some 3D models of weapons.
Greetings.

Re: Quick Update
Okay thanks for that.
Yes it is quite quiet, though we do have 2 new programers. diego_pmc is working on scripting, so we can load data to use with our classes etc. Fair going they have done rather a lot.
The other I keep in contact with via msn. He was on site today but didn't log in.
I'll ask around for modelers then. What file format are we capabile of loading. I was thinking blender. If I don't get anyone soon, you could probably find some free models online, just to test out.

Yes, the models should be made in Blender and be exported as Ogre 3D *.mesh files along with material (*.material) files for runtime use in the Ogre 3D engine. We can use the following formats, but need to convert them to Ogre 3D through Blender or Milkshape 3D:
3DS, OBJ, X, DAE and FBX.
We don't need models to test Ogre 3D, but rather to make a demo/prototype level for showing our ideas ingame. It should be specific key models fitting our theme and the terrain should be populated with the correct type of buildings or structures for the time period in question. 1 test level would be enough for now.
I'll convert them if they are uploaded to the Wiki. I can use Blender so that's not a problem.
The models and textures should be free of license or free to use so that we can use them without trouble over copyright.
We would use the demo to make publicity through screenshots for the forum & website. We also need a banner or icon design for recognition. A 2D designer could do that for us.
