Do you plan to have some persian units or some foreign ones ? I guess those greek soldiers need enemies

perhaps yes, what does everyone else think. Although we can get plenty of variationin with different city states

Well that's just the units available to the player. In my plot the enemy is Ares so I don't know how we'll be able to fit in Persian units. Perhaps though. Anything's possible. I'm planning on having some flashback sequences so there might be room for them there. And there's always room in the second act for them.

could you please post any visual references or drawings you have of the units and their equipment, so that 3D artists can see what we need made? You can use the main Wiki for this, just create a page and put in any pictures you have, or post links to references online, if there are issues using the pictures at our site.

My second question would be: What date in history can we consider the units and their equipment to be in? It's important for me when doing research into the visuals, housing, lifestyle and social environment of that time.
Please also post information about military formations of the units, if you have that.

I think we should stick to Ares as the opponent initially, so as not to creep our features.

Yes, I guess team should focus on Ares and avoid getting into difficulties at first, maybe it's better to have some sort of expansion later with new enemies?

By the way, i have lots of photos from Persepolis, the only thing remains from Persia at range 550-300 BC. I guess they are good for sketch... But for later.

and another thing... where is the wiki thing? am i able to post things there ?

i'd also like to get a world map as the greeks would have seen it at their time. That would form the strategic map of our game, when an artist renders one for us.
Put up anything you can on a page in the Wiki at http://ageofgreeks.wikispaces.com/, but please mind the original copyrights and credits of your source data.

I'll start compiling photos and reference materials. I already have for some things.

As for the era I was thinking a mix of the different ages of ancient Greece. Kind of a best of. Since this is set in a fictional universe there's no point in specifying. Also I was thinking of basing the general geography on the Peloponnese. Not the cities or boundaries but the basic terrain.

If someone could organise photos and pricture referances that would be great. I think we should start small and say focus just on Greeks for now.
